What is a blog?

All this talk about blogs at the moment - I thought the following quote from the book: Robert Scoble: Naked Conversations : How Blogs are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers would help:

“A blog is really quite simple. It is nothing more than a personal web site with content displayed in reverse-chronological order. New posts are placed at the top of the page instead of at the bottom, making it ways to see what has changed. In most cases, site visitors can identify the author and leave comments for others to see…

…The most important aspect of the blog is that is it conversational.”*

As Yossi Vardi puts it, “Blogging is word of mouth on steroids”.
